Another British detective series about a homegrown detective, they love, apparently, this is the case in life, not only in literature and cinema, since the plot was based on events from the life of the mother of the author of the literary basis - David Cook, he wrote the novel "Missing", which formed the basis of the first full-length film, and then the series. So, "Hetty Wainthropp Investigates" / Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, season 4, 1996 - 1998. Hattie Waintrop (Patricia Rutledge) - a woman of pre-retirement age who does not have enough experience in order to receive her own pension, suddenly for her husband Robert (Derek Banfield) decides to do a private investigation, apparently read numerous detective novels. Possessing a fairly solid and decisive character, perseverance, as well as an undoubted ability to think and understand not very difficult everyday situations and incidents for which the police do not want to take up, she really turns out to be able to do the job she took up. She also manages to establish a good relationship with the police inspector Adams (John Graham-Davies), who often helps her, often helps him, in general, this is a normal tandem. In addition, she introduces to the case of a young man Jeff Shawcross (Dominic Monaghan), whom she first caught on petty theft, and then not only that she let live, but also taught something, although, of course, he did not shine with special talents. But thanks to her, at least, he did not go down the curve and became a normal person. Sometimes her husband helps her. In general, she gradually becomes quite famous in the narrow circles of the county of Lancashire and is beginning to be addressed. The series does not shine with special discoveries or complex plots, however, it looks good, because in life most often there are such not terribly complex plots when people are faced simply with crooks and bad people. I can recommend to those who have a lot of free time and do not want to hammer their heads with serious problems, it is quite suitable for viewing. The actors were selected very successfully, fully embody the plans of the authors.
